Rwanda Development Board Selects AtMail for Government Wide Email Platform

The Rwanda Development Board has selected Linux-based email solution AtMail for its email system, providing a single platform for customizable email accounts and mobile messaging to all Rwanda's government agencies.

"AtMail was selected by selected by RDB’s IT section – formerly RITA, as the most suitable email system that could meet our objectives to have all the government agencies onto a single platform with the flexibility to customize email accounts and, most importantly, receive vital messages on mobile devices," said Desire Ngabonziza project manager with the Rwanda Development Board. "AtMail is very intuitive which allows our institutions leaders to easily access information and our internal team has remarked that it is very similar to other platforms they are familiar with, like Google’s Gmail or Yahoo Mail."

AtMail now supports more than 15 million email accounts globally. AtMail provides government agencies, ISPs, and small- to-mid-sized businesses with cost-effective, intuitive email systems available in both commercial and open source options. The AtMail messaging and collaboration suite of webmail solutions and support technology includes: email, calendaring, webmail server and archiving capabilities. From a webmail system to a turn-key e-mail server, AtMail provides organizations with all of the e-mail solutions necessary for mission critical business activities.

Atmail vice president Corey Bissaillon said AtMail will let RDB use its existing server system, while being able to easily customize AtMail's webmail interface. "AtMail's flexibility in this regard continues to be an important consideration for IT personnel in every industry," Bissaillon said in a statement. "We are extremely pleased to offer our technology to the Rwandan government, allowing them to expand the reach of their service to more offices and individuals located throughout the country."

Other AtMail products include email server appliances, groupware collaboration and web-based administration systems that can be integrated with virus and anti-spam solutions utilizing MySQL as the database backend.
